Codfather Charters has been fishing the Vancouver Island and Port Hardy area since 1986 as one of the top consistent producers. We have clean, comfortable 24 and 26' foot boats and quality fishing gear. All of our sport fishing guides have many years of experience fishing Vancouver Island waters and are professionally trained in navigation, safety, communication and are Transport Canada certified. Enjoy our newly renovated dockside condos with up to three bedrooms, full kitchens, cable TV and barbecues.
Codfather fishing Charters are environmentally responsible, we encourage catch and release. We’re one of the few charter operations that will discuss and try to meet your specific fishing preferences (when conditions are right) or special trophy fishing. For added variety you can enjoy scuba diving, whale watching (and bald eagle sightings), hiking, golf, scenic beach walks and winding down in the local pubs.
We are strategically located in Port Hardy, B.C. which is in the Queen Charlotte Strait and is the route that most fish pass on their way to the famous fishing inlets between Vancouver Island and the Mainland: Knight Inlet, Kingcome Inlet, Campbell River, and all points south. Port Hardy enjoys the nice summer climate during fishing season, June to September. Most days are sunny with light winds. Average daily maximum temperature is 17 degrees Celsius (62 degrees F.) with an average of 27 days per month expected sunny.
